Family Travel Stories

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

rainbow-springs-2-24-09zaRecently on a family vacation, I put our old digital camera to work. I took it everywhere we went and took pictures of everything that looked interesting to me. The typical response I got from my family was “will you put that camera away”.

Digital cameras have made it easy to take pictures. I just delete the ones that do not come out or were not what I was trying to compose. On our trip, I filled two 1MB cards and one 256K card. That is a lot of pictures.

After we returned, I went through all the photos and wrote stories about each day of our trip. I emailed these to family.

I enjoy reviewing the pictures and presenting them in a way that people enjoy seeing. I also file them by year and category to make it easier to find in the future.rainbow-springs-2-24-09g1

It is amazing how often we look back at the pictures with the children and how much they appreciate these photos that they did not want me to take.

Spring is here, so take advantage of the nice weather and look for flowers, birds, children, pets, etc. to take pictures of and make your own stories.
