Boys and Girls Club hosts family activities at Milford Pumpkin Festival

Families and kids will find lots to do at the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley on Saturday, October 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in celebration of the annual Milford Pumpkin Festival. The Boys & Girls Club is located just off the Milford oval at 56 Mont Vernon Street, and will be teeming with family friendly activities including bouncy houses, carnival games, sand art projects and pizza and hot dogs at the Club Café. Throughout the day, train rides will run from the Boys & Girls Club to Emerson Park.

At 11:00 a.m., teen performers from the Pine Hill Waldorf School’s Hilltop Circus and Flying Gravity Circus Show will present a juggling demonstration and workshop, under the direction of circus arts educator Jackie Davis. Ms. Davis is a co-founder of the Flying Gravity Circus, which helps schools launch developmental circus arts programs in the United States and Canada through performances and workshops. In the summertime, she runs the Silver Lining Circus Camp and the Silver Lining Youth Circus touring company.

At 1 p.m. the stage will be turned over to the Spooktacular Dance Show, directed by Isaiah Silvia-Chandley of Souhegan High School. Silvia-Chandley is active in the Riverbend Youth Company theater arts program at the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, plays football at Souhegan High School and studies dance at Kathy Blake Dance Studios in Amherst. The Spooktacular Dance Show is his creation and this performance will be a preview featuring five Halloween-themed dance numbers by members of the Boys & Girls Club.  The entire family-friendly show with 14 dance numbers can be seen at the Boys & Girls Club on October 29th at 7:30 p.m. and October 30th at 1:00 p.m.
