Recently I took my boys to the Truck Meet in Barrington. This is a typical small town truck show where vehicles from all over (there were some from New York and Vermont) are on display for the public viewing.
Some trucks looked like they were towed from the back woods and some were polished and well cared for.
This particular show highlights trucks and tractors. There were semi trucks, fire trucks, tow trucks, army trucks, 4×4 pickups, El Caminos, Model T’s, etc. They ranged in years from 1916 to 2008.
I was surprised how interested my kids were in the trucks. My oldest liked learning about the age of the trucks while my youngest liked the size of the trucks and their hood ornaments.
There are plenty of car shows throughout the state, and I highly recommend taking a tour into the past to see how much technology has changed in 100 years. It was pretty neat explaining to my kids that the crank in the front of some of the vehicles was to start the motor.
